Cainiao Pickup Points and Lockers: How Tracking Works
A locker or pickup-point scan means the parcel was recorded at a collection location. It does not mean someone already signed for home delivery. Track the shipment on CNUSUP and read any pickup code, deadline, or location name on the official carrier or marketplace message.
This page explains how to read those events on Cainiao-linked routes. It cannot extend a hold period or open a locker for you.
Direct answer#
When tracking mentions a pickup point, parcel shop, or locker:
- Confirm the location name and city match your order.
- Look for a pickup code, QR instructions, or ID requirements in the official notice.
- Note the hold deadline if one is published.
- Collect with the ID and code the carrier requires.
- If the location looks wrong, contact the seller or named last-mile provider before the deadline passes.
Cainiao’s overseas local capabilities page lists last-mile deliveries and lockers among local services it has built in markets such as Spain, France, and Poland. That confirms locker-style delivery exists in those markets. It does not prove your order will use a locker.
How locker tracking differs from home delivery#
| Event | Typical meaning |
|---|---|
| Arrived at destination country | Still upstream of local collection |
| Handed to local partner | A destination network accepted the parcel |
| Arrived at pickup point / locker | Ready or nearly ready for collection at a named site |
| Delivered / collected | Someone completed pickup, or the carrier marked completion |
| Returned to sender / return to hub | Hold expired or collection failed |
Do not treat “arrived at destination country” as a locker arrival. Use the status comparison guide.
What to save before you travel to the point#
- Order number and recipient name used on the label.
- Local tracking number and carrier or locker network name.
- Pickup code or barcode instructions from the official channel.
- Address of the point and the stated deadline.
If a second tracking number appeared when the locker network took over, keep the original Cainiao-linked number too. See dual tracking numbers after a merchant relabel.
Safety checks#
- Open pickup instructions only from the marketplace order page or the carrier’s official site or app.
- Do not pay an unexpected “locker release” fee from a text link.
- If the message asks for remote desktop access or gift-card payment, ignore it and verify on the official site.
If you miss the hold window#
Ask the named last-mile provider whether the parcel can be reheld, redirected, or returned to a hub. Then tell the seller what the carrier said. CNUSUP can show the scan history; it cannot change a locker reservation.
